In 2014, Tay Iwar (formerly Tay) entered the music scene with his brother Ste Iwal. That same year, they founded Bantu Collective, an entertainment company in Abuja, recording and distributing music from a photo studio managed by Terna Iwal. Shortly after, on April 20, 2014, Iwar released his mixtape Passport on BANTU and launched his music career on SoundCloud as Tay with a cover of Jay Paul’s “Zion Wolf”. This earned it a nomination for Best Song at the 4th Annual Nigerian Teens’ Choice Awards in 2015.
